Facebook-sivu on aktiivisimpia tiedotusvälineitä ja pörröisten kissakuvien jakamisen paikka, mutta kahvilan asukkaiden kuulumisia ja kuvia voi seurata myös muualla. Kissakahvilan instagram-tili on aktiivinen ja sisältö painottuu lähes täysin kissoihin. Silloin tällöin mukaan mahtuu myös pieniä videoita, joista pääsee näkemään astetta enemmän karvakorvien komeutta.

Did you know, that Cat cafe Purnauskis can be found in many social medias? Facebook-page is the most active channel for informative posts and sharing fluffy cat pictures, but the cafe's resident's and how they are doing can be followed elsewhere too. The cat cafe's instagram-account is active and the content is focused almost totally to the cats. Every now and then there can be found small videos, where you can see a tiny bit more handsomeness of the furry tails.

The visitors of the cat cafe often post photos to Instagram and these vibes can be easily found by other cat fans, when adding a hashtag #purnauskis to the post or linking the location. Kissakahvila Purnauskis on Vuoden Tamperelainen 2016!

Tänä vuonna kilpailussa annettiin ennätysmäärä ääniä, yhteensä yli 6500. Purnauskis keräsi äänistä huimat 23 prosenttia. Voittajan valintaa äänien antajat perustelivat muun muassa seuraavin kommentein:

"Rohkea nuori yrittäjä, joka uskoo unelmiinsa."

Cat cafe Purnauskis is the Tampere's person of the year 2016!

This year there was given a record amount of votes at the contest, all together over 6500. Purnauskis collected a large amount of the votes, 23 percent. The voters gave reasons for voting the winner for example with the following comments:

"A brave young business person, who believes in their dreams."

"The value of being a social rehabilitation environment cannot be measured with money."

"Joy and good PR to Manse."

"A new nicely working idea which attracts travellers, brings recognizability to the city and is even working on a good cause."

Lauantaina Koskikeskuksessa järjestettiin Kulttuuritori ja jaettiin Vuoden Tamperelainen 2016 -palkinto. Kissakahvila Purnauskiksen yrittäjät Markus ja Tiina aaltonen vastaanottivat palkinnon Tamperelaisen päätoimittaja Karri Kannalta.

Purnauskis on ja pysyy Tampereella. Kissakahvilasta on alle kahden vuoden taipaleellaan noussut merkittävä kaupungin matkailukohde. Asiakkailta kuulee usein, että he ovat tulleet Tampereelle varta vasten käymään Purnauskiksessa. Sehän ei kahvilan kissoja haittaa ollenkaan! Kissanpäivät vain paranevat mitä enemmän saa huomiota ja herkkuja.

Kahvilasta on tullut myös monelle tamperelaiselle asukkaalle vakipaikka, missä viettää vapaa-aikaansa. Olohuonemainen tunnelma saa ihmiset viihtymään, herkulliset menun antimet tyydyttävät makuhermot ja samalla saa nauttia viihdyttävien ja lämpöisten kissojen seurasta.


A Kulttuuritori (=Culture market) was organized on Saturday at Koskikeskus shopping center and the prize for Tampere's person of the Year was awarded. The Cat cafe Purnaukis owners Markus and Tiina Aaltonen accepted the award from Karri Kanna the editor in chief of Tamperelainen magazine.

Purnauskis is and will be in Tampere. In less than two years time the cat cafe has become a major travel destination in the city. It is often heard from customers that they have come to Tampere just for the purpose of visiting Purnauskis. This doesn't bother the cafe's cats at all! The days just keep getting better when there will be more attention and treats.

The cafe has become a regular place to spend free-time for many people in the city. The living room-like atmosphere, delicious dishes on the menu satisfying taste buds and all this while enjoying the company of entertaining and warm cats.

Kissakahvilan kuningas Micu tarjoili tiistaina kaikille halukkaille juhlijoille tapauksen kunniaksi kopi luwakia, kahvimaailman erikoisuutta.

On Tuesday the king of the cat cafe, Micu, was offering kopi luwak to all celebrating customers if they wished so.

Purnauskis Blend

Purnauskiksen pienen historian aikana on kahvilassa tarjoiltu monia laadukkaita kahvimakuja. Jo kahvilan perustamisvaiheessa aloitettiin yhteistyö Tampereen Paahtimon kanssa. Idea sai alkunsa omstajan ollessa yrityskurssilla, josta yhteistyö alkoi puhelinsoiton jälkeen. Tampereen Paahtimon Kallen ja Minnan kanssa yhteistyö on sujunut alusta alkaen kotoisasti ja ennakkoluulottomasti.

During the short history of Purnauskis, the cafe has served many good quality coffee flavors. At the very beginning when the cafe was only starting to be, a collaboration started with Tampereen Paahtimo (Tampere Roastery). The idea got started when the owner was on a business course, from where the collaboration began after a phone call. Working together with Kalle and Minna from Tampere Roastery has been cozy and open-minded since the beginning.

Kakkujen kaverina tai ihan sellaisenaan on maistunut moni kahvi Purnauskiksessa. Kahvien vaihtelussa on ollut puolensa, sillä kahvilan henkilökunta ja asiakkaat ovat päässeet maistelemaan eri maista tulevia kahveja. Olemme saaneet hyvin otettua huomioon kahvien makujen palautteen. Kaikki kahvipavut jauhetaan vasta kahvilassa, jotta maut ja aromit pääsevät oikeuksiinsa. Kahvisekoituksia on ollut monesta alkuperästä, kuten esimerkiksi etiopialaista, kenialaista ja indonesialaista. Kahveista olemme saaneet suoran käden tietoa paahtimolta ja ihmisiä on ihastutettu syventävillä kahvitarinoilla.

Many coffees has been enjoyed at Purnauskis, with cake or just as they are. Variating the coffees has had its benefits, because the cafe's staff and the customers have had the opportunity to taste coffees from different origins countries. We've been able to take in the feedback of the taste of the coffees. All coffee beans are ground at the cafe, so that the flavors will get out as they should. There has been many coffee blends from different origins, for example from Ethiopia, Kenya and Indonesia. We have gotten first hand information from the roastery about the coffees and have been delighting people with advanced coffee information.

Ajatus omasta kahvisekoituksesta oli olemassa jo heti Purnauskiksen alkutaipaleella. Purnauskis Blend sai vihdoin pörheän muotonsa ja makunsa kissakahvilan yksivuotissyntymäpäiville, Purnauskis Carnevaleille. Kissakahvilan henkilökunta kävi kahvila Taikapavussa maistelemassa kahveja ja sekä niiden yhdistelmiä ennen lopullista päätöstä Purnauskis Blendin sisällöstä. Haluttiin tummempaa kahvia, sekä enemmän suklaisia kuin hedelmäisiä aromeja. Kahvin nimestäkin käytiin keskustelua ja monenlaisia ehdotuksia mahtui mukaan, kuten "Evon erikoishyvä kahvi" ja "Purnauskis paahto". Yksinkertaisuudessaan hyvä "Purnauskis Blend" kuitenkin kuulosti parhaalta.

The idea of an own coffee blend was out there already when Purnauskis was starting. Purnauskis Blend finally got its shape and flavor to the cat cafe's first birthday party, Purnauskis Carneval. The cat cafe's staff went to cafe Taikapapu to taste the coffees and their combinations, before finalizing the decision about the content of Purnauskis Blend. We wanted a darker coffee, with more chocolaty than fruity flavors. There was some conversation about the name of the coffee and many suggestions were said, like "Evo's especially good coffee" and "Purnauskis roast". In it's all simplicity "Purnauskis Blend" sounded like the best one.

Purnauskis Blendin arabica -papujen alkuperämaat ovat Kenia ja Indonesia ja tarkemmin sanottuna Jaavan saari. Kenialaisen AA+ kahvin pakkauksessa on leijona. Tämä oli selkeä johdatus siitä, että se kuuluu kissakahvilan omaan kahviin. Tämä tummapaahtoinen kahvisekoitus on paahtoasteeltaan 3,7. Blend sopii sekä suodatin- että espressokhviksi. Espressona maisteltuna kahvi antaa jopa silkkisen suutuntuman ja toffeenmakuisia vivahteita. Kahvista on yleisestikin löydettävissä pientä suklaista makuelämystä, aivan aavistus hedelmäisyyttä ja ripaus savuisaa pähkinää. Kissakahvilassa Purnauskis Blend valmistetaan pyynnöstä AeroPressillä tai Hario V60:llä.

Purnauskis Blendiä on mahdollista ostaa myös kotiin. Pussi on kooltaan 225 g, jolloin se on mahdollista postittaa edullisesti myös muualle päin Suomea. Saatavana valmiiksi jauhettuna ja kahvipapuina. Pussi sovittiin yhteistyöllä Tampereen Paahtimon kanssa ja etiketin suunnittelusta vastaa Purnauskiksen omistajat. Purnauskis Blend -pussissa on venttiili, joka estää pussia turpoamasta sen ollessa suljettuna ja myös pitää aromit sisällä.

Pussin hinta 9,50 € ja postitettuna Suomessa 13,50 €.


Purnauskis Blend's arabica -beans come from Kenya and Java. The Kenya AA+ coffee has a lion on the package. This was a clear sign, that it belongs in the cat cafe's own coffee. This dark coffee blend has the roast level of 3,7. The Blend is good for both filter and espresso coffee. When enjoying it as an espresso, the coffee gives a silky feeling and toffee-like tones. Some chocolaty aromas, hint of fruitiness and a pinch of smoky nut can generally be found in the coffee. At cat cafe the Purnauskis Blend is made by request with AeroPress or Hario V60.

Purnauskis blens is available for home brewing. The bag is 225g, so it can be mailed with a reasonable price to all over Finland. Available with ready ground or as coffee beans. The bag was agreed upon as a group and responsible for designing the label are the owners of Purnauskis. The Blend bag has a valve, which prevents the swelling of the bag while closed and also for keeping in the flavors.

Price for the bag is 9,50 € when purchased at the cafe and 13,50 € when mailed in Finland. 

Viirukin näyttää olevan ihan kahvin tarpeessa, kun noin väsyttää. ;)

Viiru also seems to be in the need for coffee, as she's so sleepy. ;)
